Job description

Overview The Patient Accommodations Reservation Specialist is under the general direction of the Administrative Supervisor/Manager and is primarily responsible for coordinating the patient room assignment procedures and maintaining an up to date census and location of patients and vacant beds. They are also responsible for assignment of Patient Status and correction of patient status. Responsibilities: - Maintain confidentiality of patients. - Patient Status Classification - Logs and monitor physician’s orders into computer database according to procedure. - Correct status Census Control: - Contact Nurse Managers and nursing units for information on planned discharges - Prepare and maintain room availability - Maintain hospital at correct admission level. Room Assignment: - Decide on the priority of rooms to be cleaned and/or general cleaned. - Make decisions on assignments of rooms for admission and transfers according to hospital and admission policies - Coordinates bed assignment with Nurse Mangers and Staffing - Works with the Nurse Epidemiologist to place isolation patients appropriately.
