Senior Accountant

Job description

Senior Accountant essential functions include, but are not limited to, assisting with the preparation of journal entries, generating invoices, preparing monthly general ledger reconciliations, and assisting with various financial reporting requirements. The Senior Accountant is also responsible for other accounting, financial and administrative tasks for the Office of the Commissioner of Baseball. Responsibilities: General Accounting: - Prepare journal entry support for monthly accruals across various MLB entities - Assist various MLB entities with accounts payable and prepare related bank reconciliations - Assist with day to day accounts receivable activities including generating invoices for international broadcast, baseball operations, and MLB Clubs - Assist with reconciliations of Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss accounts - Assist with the financial close processes at month and year end - Assist with the monthly close process for all fixed asset ledgers Reporting & Audit: - Prepare analyses and reporting of financial data at the end of each month - Assist with the dissemination of information to the auditors - Assist with preparation of the audited financial statements Qualifica...
