Job description

Duties include: Project management; interfacing with community-based organizations in hurricane-prone regions; data cleaning and organization; field visits and observations; supervising graduate student or undergraduate researchers; attending community meetings, deploying for quick response fieldwork and collaborating with students from other disciplines such as engineering, data analysis; writing manuscripts and preparing presentations. Background knowledge desired: Doctoral degree in community psychology, sociology, psychology, public policy, or a related field. Knowledge of research ethics, disaster studies, community engagement, and mixed methods data collection and analysis in SPSS. Skills desired: Training in participatory action research, strong data analysis skills, experience using and managing Qualtrics surveys; experience in SPSS; primary data collection; supervision; organization; academic writing and presenting. Salary: This position is a 12-month position, but can be renewed for an additional year depending on funding and project activities needed.
