Description SCRIPPS COLLEGE, CLAREMONT, CALIFORNIA 91711: VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN HISTORY 2022-23 ACADEMIC YEAR: Scripps College, a women’s liberal arts college with a strong interdisciplinary tradition, invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor position in early U.S. History (1776 to 1877) with a specialty in African American history for 2022-2023, with possibility of renewal for the subsequent academic year. The position requires teaching two history courses in Fall 2022 (African Diaspora in the U.S. to 1877 and U.S. History to 1865) as well as teaching a section of the College’s interdisciplinary Core 1 according to a shared syllabus. In Spring 2023, two courses will be offered that will reflect the visiting professor’s specialties. Advising senior theses is also expected.
