INTERN: Data Science Software Engineer

Job description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities: - Work closely with domain experts to support assigned analytics and data science projects. - Collect, clean, preprocess, and validate structured and unstructured datasets from multiple sources such as log parsing, text file parsing, instrument data streams and existing databases, etc. - Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies. - Create technical documentation, reports, and presentations summarizing findings, insights, and recommendations. - Assist with selection, evaluation, and setup of data science tools, libraries, and computing resources. - Follow best practices for data governance, version control, and reproducible research. - Collaborate within a cross-functional team environment and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Education & Experience: - B.S. preferred, working towards a graduate degree in Optical Engineering, Laser Physics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
