Job description

The Part Time Cast Technician supports the ambulatory orthopedic practice with a focus on trauma care, hand surgery, and pediatric orthopedics. This role is responsible for the application and removal of casts and braces, assisting with minor clinical procedures, and providing high-quality patient care under the direction of licensed providers. The Cast Technician plays a key role in patient education, clinical efficiency, and ensuring a safe, compassionate experience for patients of all ages. Daily duties/ Skills include but are not limited to: - Casting and Brace Care: Apply, remove, and modify orthopedic casts (plaster and fiberglass) according to provider orders and established protocols. Apply and remove orthopedic braces, splints, and immobilization devices. Assess cast and brace fit, comfort, and integrity; report concerns to the provider promptly. Provide patient and caregiver education on cast and brace care, activity restrictions, and warning signs requiring medical attention - Equipment/ DME: Maintain Equipment and supply inventory at ambulatory practice and let supervisor know when supplies are needed.
