Job description

The intern is working toward obtaining a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Counseling at an accredited university. Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch seeks to partner with students to provide internship hours and field instruction necessary to complete their degree. ​ The purpose of the field work program is to provide a practical, service-oriented experience in which the student’s knowledge and skills can be demonstrated and applied, enhanced and appraised. As such, the intern will shadow an assigned mentor from the counseling department who is responsible for the provision of case management/counseling services to the residents of Cal Farley's Boys Ranch. The intern will shadow an assigned counselor who acts as liaison between residents, families, and outside agencies and provides crisis intervention for residents. Requirements: JOB-SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Exhibits regular and punctual attendance. 2. Assists in the design, implementation and evaluation of Boys Ranch clinical interventions for identified residents in accordance with appropriate therapeutic practices. 3.
