Job description

Description The University of Chicago's Department of Radiation and Cellular Oncology, Section of Medical Physics, in the Biological Sciences Division, seeks Medical Physicist faculty members at the rank of Assistant Professor. The Department of Radiation and Cellular Oncology is a multi-institutional department and includes partnerships with the University of Illinois and 3 other suburban community health systems. Duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent upon qualifications. The physics section includes 6 faculty as well as 9 Ph.D. and 3 M.S. level staff physicists, in addition to 9 dosimetrists and support staff covering all 5 sites. Clinical operations at distributed sites treat approximately 200 patients per day with a mix of state-of-the-art and older machines and techniques, e.g., HDR, prostate seed implants, IMRT, IGRT, framed and frameless, SRS, SBRT.
