RESPONSIBILITIES: The Department of Writing is looking for interested students to work in the Writing Center. - Tutoring a wide range of students, including international and graduate students, from across the college, approximately 10 hours a week, to help them gain independence as writers - Maintaining the Writing Center as a welcoming and inclusive space for all - Hosting workshops and visits from classes to promote use of the Writing Center Develop instructional content QUALIFICATIONS: NOTE: If hired, you will be REQUIRED to take WRTG 21800: Writing Center Pedagogy for 1-credit in the Fall 2025 semester, Pass/Fail. The course meets Mondays from 10am - 11:40am during Block I. That means the course ends in October and if successfully completed, you will begin tutoring in the Writing Center. You can still register for the course if you aren't hired. Then if you try again next year and get hired, you can begin tutoring immediately in Fall 2025. PLEASE RECONSIDER YOUR APPLICATION IF YOU CANNOT REGISTER FOR WRTG 218, FALL 2025, FOR ANY REASON.
