Part-Time Day 24 hours bi-weekly 12 hours a week Variable start times and days of week Critical care or emergency room experience preferred The goal of the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) department is to provide compassionate and professional nursing care and recovery management for the post-anesthesia patients under the direction of the Anesthesia department for age specific groups including pediatric, adult and geriatric. PACU provides services for phase I and phase I recovery care. The department is routinely staffed from 0730 - 2100 Monday through Friday. PACU staff moves through an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 coverage for quality patient recovery care. This includes weekend and Holiday on-call recovery care. General Summary: Provides professional nursing care at the beginner practitioner level in accordance with the principles of patient and family-centered care based on the nursing process and according to the clinical standards of the hospital. Acts as a primary nurse for patients on the unit. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines. May require specialized skills depending on unit assignment.
