Employment Type: Part time Shift: Day Shift Description: Practicing under the direction of a physician, provides services and interventions such as surgical assistance, patient assessment, history and physical examination, provides treatment, and counsels patients. Performs medical and surgical procedures, orders appropriate laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging studies. Orders appropriate medications, treatment or therapies. Provides discharge instructions and assists with coordinating services for the patient at home. Has responsibility for patient care and education; and works with private physicians to facilitate treatment. PERFORMANCE DUTIES: - First assists all surgical specialties based on privileges, skills and tasks to be performed. - Provides adequate surgical exposure by providing hemostasis and maintaining a clear visual field. - Examines patient and obtains and records appropriate history. - Administers or orders diagnostic tests such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests. - Compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical exam. - Interprets diagnostic test results for deviations from normal.
