Job description

Location: Charlton Building The Registered Nurse in Radiation Oncology provides care for patients whom are receiving or have received photon or proton radiation therapy. The RN is accountable for the delivery of direct patient care including patient education, symptom assessment and management, conscious sedation and IV contrast administration. The RN collaborates daily with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and radiation therapists. The RN will assist in care coordination and research associated with clinical care. The Radiation Oncology practice is continuing to expand to bring cutting edge cancer therapies to Mayo Clinic patients. Being a part of the Radiation Oncology team, Nursing contributes to the overall success of the Department and its patients. The registered nurse (RN) is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family.
