ABOUT THE ROLE: We are seeking a Health & Safety Officer to join our team supporting the DOE's Y-12 National Security Complex ! This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Responsibilities: Performs work in a wide range of environmental, health and safety disciplines to achieve compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements. Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs, systems, and procedures necessary to ensure the overall safety and health of employees and the community. Develops advanced concepts, techniques, and standards based on professional principles and theories. Works on unusually significant, unique or complex issues, provides solutions that are highly creative and where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles. Requirements: Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree (4-year technical degree) in an ES&H discipline plus a minimum of 3 years of experience in a related waste management work environment; or 10 years of progressive experience in waste operations that may be substituted as equivalent experience.
