VCA Jackson Animal Hospital is expanding our Patient Care Team and seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant! The Role: As a Veterinary Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting patient care and enhancing the client experience. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is eager to grow their skills within a supportive and well-established team. What You’ll Do: - Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatments - Safely restrain pets for exams and procedures using Fear Free techniques - Prepare exam rooms and surgical suites - Support anesthesia and surgical procedures as needed - Collect samples and assist with in-house laboratory diagnostics - Administer medications as directed by the DVM - Perform basic husbandry and nursing care for hospitalized patients - Maintain accurate and thorough medical records - Educate clients on general pet care, medications, and discharge instructions - Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe hospital environment - Plus more!
