Motor Equipment Mechanic III - Northampton - ( 260002SX ) Description The Massachusetts Department of State Police is seeking an enthusiastic and qualified individual to join the Fleet Section as a Motor Equipment Mechanic. This is an exciting opportunity to join the state police in a civilian capacity and to support the critical mission of the Massachusetts Department of State Police. The selected individual will perform a wide variety of regular and complicated maintenance, repair and testing work on all State Police motor vehicles and equipment. Conduct accurate and thorough inspections to diagnose mechanical issues on motor vehicles and perform automotive repairs including engine management systems, fuel management systems, transmission, electrical alignment, steering, suspension, brakes, etc. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair State Police cruisers and other motor vehicles and equipment for use by Department of State Police Personnel. · Troubleshoot and road test State Police vehicles and equipment to determine the repair work to be performed · Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical systems and components to diagnose issues acc...
