Laboratory Technician II - Scott Blvd Laboratory & Urgent Care 60% - ( 26002800 ) Description The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a patient centered Lab Tech II 60% (24 hours per week) to work with our Urgent Care Clinics . This position also will have a supportive laboratory focus (providing phlebotomy support as well as point of care testing). Position Summary: Under general supervision, the Laboratory Technician II performs phlebotomy and a variety of difficult venipuncture procedures, difficult technical procedures, and other associated responsibilities in the clinical laboratory, while maintaining laboratory area and equipment. Position Responsibilities: Performs phlebotomy. Performs routine laboratory testing (urinalysis, blood tests, etc.) on clinical biological specimens such as blood and body fluids.
