Job description

Position Summary The General Maintenance Worker (GMW) - HVAC will provide HVAC maintenance support. This position involves performing maintenance and repairs on various types of equipment related to air conditioning, dehumidification, refrigeration, ventilation, and heating systems within critically controlled environmental installations. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: - High School Diploma or GED - 1-2 years’ experience as a licensed Journeyman HVAC mechanic. - Knowledge of electrical and mechanical operation and maintenance of power generation equipment is required. SKILLS/ABILITIES: - Basic computer skills. - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Attention to detail and a commitment to quality. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: - Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 50 pounds. - Some climbing and balancing. - Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. - Generally, the job requires 15% sitting, 40% walking, and 45% standing. - High noise levels are common with general maintenance. - Must have the ability to maintain assigned work hours. - Must have sufficient endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time.
