The Archive Engineering Team designs, builds, and helps maintains Citi’s global electronic communications archival platforms , ensuring all email, chat, and messaging data is retained, searchable, discoverable, and compliant with global regulatory requirements. This includes ownership of architecture, ingestion pipelines, retention controls, and integration with Legal, ICRM, CSIS, and regional partners. The Archive Engineering team works across a suite of specialized technologies that enable Citi to capture, route, store, reconcile, and discover electronic communications at global scale. Their core platforms include Smarsh Enterprise Archive—the firm’s primary cloud‑based eComms archive hosted on AWS with encrypted storage—which is replacing legacy on‑prem systems such as ZL Technologies and Digital Safe as regions migrate to SaaS solutions. They engage with delivery and routing technologies like Proofpoint PCGM for journal and feed reconciliation, Vantage for MS Teams, ICE, Eikon, and Symphony chat ingestion, as well as SMTP, sFTP, and other custom feed pipelines.
