Job description

Job Overview: Officers must be a minimum of 21 years of age. Responsibilities to include: Patrol buildings and grounds to deter/prevent law and policy violations. Post-up at specific locations when assigned. To ensure the safety and security of patients, parents, visitors, and team members. Maintain communications with the Communications Center and other Protective Services personnel by two-way radio, phone and other communication devices. Ensure that only authorized personnel are admitted onto hospital premises; contact unauthorized persons to determine service needs, ask questions, re-routing or detainment appropriate to the facts known at the time. Report safety and fire hazards observed on routine patrols and inspections; look for violations of the Joint Commission, OSHA, NFPA and Fire Code safety violations. Officers may be assigned On-Call responsibilities and may be reassigned to other locations and work schedules including weekends and holidays as needed to fulfill mission of department.
