PLEASE NOTE THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST RESIDE WITHIN 30 MINUTES OF CHATTANOOGA TN. Chattanooga Gas has a new development opportunity for an employee who is interested in progressing to a Field Technician C position. The successful candidate will receive appropriate training necessary to progress to the Field Technician C position within a certain timeframe. The successful candidate will serve in an on-call capacity for emergency response and also be responsible for the activation and deactivation of natural gas. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Basic Function: Intermediate level position responsible for completing a variety of tasks associated with the installation, activation, deactivation, maintenance and inspection of gas meters and regulators. Responds to routine and emergency requests for gas service and is responsible for repairing leaks on meter sets. Serves as a member of a crew engaged installing and repairing gas mains and service pipeline. Participates in making taps on mains and services and operates heavy equipment.
