Job description

Position Summary: The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer utilizes high frequency sound waves and other diagnostic techniques for medical diagnosis in various regions of the body. Education, License & Cert: High school with additional skills training (certification) required. Certification Required: RDMS (preferred) or ARRT with specialized certification in Sonography required, cannot be certification eligible. Experience: Minimum of three months (RDMS). Essential Functions: 1. Performs the scanning examination requested by the referring physician, modifying the examination, depending upon on the findings demonstrated, and review the examination with the supervising Radiologist if necessary. 2. Assists the Radiologist or the clinician in special procedures such as percutaneous fluid aspiration or biopsy procedures when performed in the department or in Interventional Radiology. 3. Performs routine equipment checks for resolution and other quality control procedures, as necessary. 4.
