Operations Engineer

Job description

We are looking for an Operations Engineer to join our team! We're seeking an Operations Engineer to be an inspired and safety-focused contributor to our Engineering team, supporting distribution system analysis, planning, and capital improvements to enhance customer service through storm-hardened construction as well as customer/developer-facing interconnection work. You'll help integrate solar, storage, EV infrastructure, and other DERs safely and reliably onto the distribution grid while balancing system performance, standards, and operational needs. You'll use your engineering judgment and experience, system modeling, and cross-functional collaboration skills to deliver timely interconnection decisions and grid solutions that benefit all GMP customers. What you'll do: DER Interconnections: - Technical review of DER interconnection requests (e.g., solar , storage, EVSE, microgrids, CHP), including application screening and feasibility assessment. - Perform distribution impact studies (as needed): thermal loading, voltage/voltage regulation, protection coordination studies, power quality impacts / analysis, and define operational constraints.
