Description The Department of Environmental Science in the College of Arts & Sciences at American University invites applications for two term faculty positions for Academic Year 2018–2019. Rank will be dependent on experience and stature in the field. The appointments are 9-month term positions and will commence on August 27, 2018. Courses taught may include, but are not limited to, introductory courses in environmental science and upper-level courses in the areas of the candidate's expertise. For the laboratory coordinator position, applicants who have experience incorporating computational tools (for example, R, python, MatLab, GIS, and/or IDL) and approaches in teaching are especially welcome to apply. All faculty are expected to hold office hours and participate in Departmental, College, and University activities and service. Although not required, term faculty are encouraged to pursue independent research programs that include graduate and undergraduate students. Qualifications: Applicants should hold a PhD or other relevant terminal degree.
