Job description

Responsible for all duties in decontamination, prepping and packaging, sterilization, storage process for all surgical instrumentation, case cart and patient care equipment. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Tests and reports any issues or problems with the sterilization equipment's. Knowledge of case cart preparation system, surgical instruments, decontamination and the different methods of sterilization (Steam, HLD, hydrogen), basic computer knowledge with an instrument tracking system. Must be able to stand for prolong periods of time, heavy lifting of surgical sets, pulling and pushing of sterilization transport carts and case carts. The technician must perform tasks quickly and efficiently, paying close attention to details and understanding the principals involved in each task performed. The technician also performs a variety of duties to maintain infection control standards for the health and safety of hospital patients, medical staff, and personnel. Principal Accountabilities: 1.
