Special Education Instructional Aide Position Summary: Heritage provides parents and scholars with a friendly and orderly academic environment. As an integral part of Heritage Academy, this position will assist the Special Education Teacher in helping all scholars in a friendly and professional manner while adhering to all practices consistent with Heritage culture, strategy, and values. Duties & Responsibilities: Work with the classroom teachers where assigned, understanding that support duties may occur in other classrooms. Provide required support to students in general education and special education settings. This may include behavioral, academic, or physical assistance. Attend Open Houses, special school events, and certain staff meetings designated as All Faculty Meetings. Assist in the documentation of students’ progress on goals in their academic and behavioral plans. Assist the teacher(s) in providing behavior support for students on specific behavior goals and plans and providing redirection, de-escalation strategies, and providing positive feedback to the students.
