Advanced Practice Provider, Moonlighter Neurosurgery

Job description

APP Moonlighter is primarily responsible for providing evening and weekend coverage for the Neurosurgery Service line at Regions Hospital. Regions Hospital is a Level 1 Trauma Center and requires 24/7 coverage for Neurosurgery. This position will be responsible for maintaining coverage for existing patients and newly transported or admitted patients needing medical attention from Neurosurgery. This position will be responsible for rounding on the patients in the hospital. This position will work in conjunction with the first call attending to coordinate the care of patients within the hospital. This position will be responsible for first call on nights and weekends. Additionally, when needed, this position will assist in the operating room and on the nursing units. The APP Moonlighter will assist the surgeon with positioning the patient and room set up, opening and closing the incision in the cranium, cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. This position will be responsible for integrating the use of advanced technology into the intra-operative procedures as directed by the neurosurgeons.
