Full-Time Nights (6p-6a) 12 hour shifts JOB SUMMARY: Telemetry Technician: NTMC will provide 3-6 weeks on the job training for this position. Experienced technician is preferred. A Telemetry Technician monitors cardiac rhythms via telemetry monitors. Prepares and compiles telemetry records for the multi-disciplinary team. Effectively communicates with nursing staff to provide safe patient care. SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: - Reflects knowledge and good judgment in decisions and actions within the role of Telemetry Technician - Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the heart in relation to waves, complexes, time and voltage shown through the conduction system and strip interpretation - Demonstrates competency in interpreting dysrhythmias - Maintains awareness of patient location and condition of patient’s telemetric patterns - Runs and posts rhythm strips at the specified times each shift, alerting charge nurses or primary care nurse to any abnormal rhythms or changes in vital signs - Interacts with co-workers, other hospital, staff and the general public in a professional and respectful manner - Answers the telephone in a timely and polite manner - Maintains a good working...
