HOURLY RANGE: $71.55 - $79.63: DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: The work involves providing professional pharmaceutical service for drug distribution and control at the Erie County Medical Center Corporation. The incumbent participates in work activities of one or more service areas including inpatient drug distribution, outpatient drug distribution and pharmaceutical technology. The incumbent assumes responsibility for quality, quantity and sensitivity of pharmaceutical services of an assigned area to assume maximum safety and efficiency of drug therapy. Work is performed under the general supervision of a professional employee of higher rank. Supervision is exercised over a number of support personnel relating to drug preparation and distribution. Does related work as required. TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: Fills physician’s orders and manufactures preparations by means of standard physical and chemical procedures; prepares and sterilizes injectable medication and other compounds; Identifies drugs brought into the hospital by patients; obtains drug histories and communicates information to physicians; Consults with physicians concerning problems of drug incompatibility, interacti...
