Job Description The Mechanical and Materials Engineering (EN-MME) group, within the Engineering Department (EN), is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the mechanical design, mechanical and thermo-mechanical simulation, and optimisation of CO2 cooling transfer lines as part of the CMS detector upgrade at CERN. Your responsibilities: More information here . - Perform mechanical and thermo-mechanical analyses via finite element tools such as ANSYS, together with structural and thermal calculations in compliance with related standards. - Prepare comprehensive technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle. - Participate in iterative design development to meet both performance objectives and integration constraints. - Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and technicians across multiple domains, contributing to fabrication-related decisions and supporting quality assurance activities.
