Job description
The Database Administrator, Mid oversees the stability, performance, and security of enterprise databases that support mission‑critical systems in a highly regulated government environment. The role designs and refines database structures, indexing strategies, and capacity plans to deliver scalable, high‑performing data services across multiple business applications. It leads complex maintenance activities such as patching, upgrades, environment migrations, and recovery exercises while minimizing downtime and coordinating closely with development, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams. Key Responsibilities: - Administer and optimize production and non‑production instances of platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL, including advanced schema design, partitioning strategies, and environment‑specific configuration. - Design and tune indexing, statistics, and query execution plans to resolve complex performance bottlenecks and ensure predictable response times for high‑volume transactional and reporting workloads. - Develop and execute robust backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies (including full, differential, and transaction log approaches) and lead pe...
