Primary Location: University Hospital - UMC Address: 530 South Jackson Street Louisville, KY 40202 Shift: Nights 7P - 7A (United States of America) Job Description Summary: The Sepsis Response Nurse is staffed by highly experienced critical care trained nurses with diverse specialty backgrounds who use technology, innovation, and education to improve patient and quality outcomes. The Sepsis Response Nurse assists with early detection and recognition of sepsis. The Sepsis Response Nurse partners with a multidisciplinary team to assist with early intervention and deliver timely and effective care to decrease incidence of hospital mortality. The Sepsis Response Nurse mentors staff needing guidance in providing care and complying with sepsis bundle guidelines. The Sepsis Response Nurse proactively responds to Sepsis Alerts and nursing concerns at the bedside to prevent patient decompensation. The Sepsis Response Nurse provides follow up on patients with Sepsis Alerts ensuring the treatment and documentation is completed per hospital standards.
