Job Description Position: Buyer: Department: Purchasing: Job Summary: Performs a variety of purchasing transactions that are of a specialized or complex nature and require the development of detailed specifications in accordance with the Gaming Enterprise Division (GED) purchasing policies, regulations, and procedures as well as applicable statutes. Duties and Responsibilities (specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to): - Purchases materials, equipment, supplies, and services of a specialized or complex nature in accordance with GED purchasing policies, regulations, and procedures as well as applicable statutes. - Examines and analyzes departmental purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy of information; contacts department staff or initiator to clarify or complete information; determines method needed to process requisitions such as bid, request for proposal, or blanket contract based on dollar amount, timeliness required, existing open contracts, and/or competitive bidding. - Write and distributes complex and highly technical bid invitations or requests for proposals; receives and analyzes bids, quotes, and proposals; awards the contract. - Prepa...
