Job description

Overview Housekeepers are assigned to each Academic Building to maintain public/ common areas, to assist in eliminating distractions such as unwanted graffiti, dust/dirt, and unwanted smells from the learning environment and to assist in the protection of the faculty, employees, and student’s health and safety. Responsibilities: Cleans all areas of the building including, but not limited to the following and other duties as assigned: - Empties and cleans waste receptacles and replaces bags as necessary. - Dusts and mops hard surfaced floors. - Thoroughly vacuums, including all edges of carpeted floors. - Arranges furniture to its original position. - Reports any damage or vandalism to your Housekeeper or supervisor. - Cleans glass to classroom entrance doors. - Wet mops hard floors as weather and usage conditions dictate (daily during winter months). - Dusts exposed horizontal surfaces such as window sills, empty shelves, door casings, and bottoms of furniture (NOTE: In scientific laboratories, bench tops and hoods are not to be cleaned by Housekeeping.) - Replaces light bulbs as necessary. - Clean all glass. - Keep all entrances clean. - Other duties as assigned. - RESTROOMS: DAIL...
