About the Role: The primary role of the ward Career Medical Officer (CMO) is to provide medical care for general ward inpatients at the Mater Hospital. This will include assessment, investigation, treatment, and referral of the patient in consultation with the Admitting Medical Officers (AMO - this is the Visiting Medical Officer that the patient has been admitted under at this time) and other members of the treating team. The CMO is required to liaise and communicate effectively with other Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs), registrars, Nursing and Allied Health staff regarding the patient’s ongoing clinical management plans and diagnostic requests.
