Job description

40 Hours per week Day and Second shift coverage needed. Assures that primary responsibility of the pharmacy department is carried out; that is, to see that the correct medication is dispensed to the correct patient by the correct mode of administration at the appropriate time. These tasks take a combination of individual participation and first line supervision of technician staff. Participates in clinical pharmacy programs in accordance with currently established health care standards. Job Summary: Responsible for supervising and performing all pharmacy activities in accordance with accredited hospital policies and procedures, ethical and professional practices, accreditation standards and State and Federal requirements. Prepares and dispenses medication orders per physician request according to established policies, procedures, and protocols. Interprets medication orders (verbal and written) and transcribes to computerized patient profiles accurately. Maintains accurate, complete medication profiles. Compounds and dispenses pharmaceuticals, including non-sterile, sterile, non-hazardous parenteral, and parenteral nutrition products accurately. Issues controlled substances to patie...
