City/State Norfolk, VA Work Shift: First (Days) Overview: Sentara is currently hiring a Patient Care Technician to work at Sentara Leigh Hospital located in Norfolk on the Post Op Recovery Unit. Hours/Shift: Full-time, dayshift. Approximately 6am to 6pm including 2-3 weekends per 6-week schedule. Department/Position Overview: Join our great team as we work together to provide excellent care to our fresh post-op patients. The unit primary focus of this role is ERAS (enhanced recovery after surgery). This includes early mobility, ICS (incentive spirometer) use, and getting out of bed for meals. Patient Care Technicians are unlicensed staff members who are accountable to, and work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to implement delegated aspects of nursing care. Provide patient care, support the admissions and discharge process, and comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional nurse.
