Braun Intertec is seeking a geotechnical drilling assistant to join our Bloomington, MN, office. The Drilling Assistant has primary responsibility for performing subsurface investigations for geotechnical and environmental purposes. A subsurface investigation can involve collecting soil, rock, groundwater samples, and logging the field data. These investigations take place over a wide variety of terrain, conditions, and weather. The Drilling Assistant will assist the Crew Chief in all aspects of the drilling operation and is expected to eventually gain the experience necessary to perform all the duties of a Crew Chief. Responsibilities: - Assists the Crew Chief in all aspects of drilling operation, while gaining the experience necessary to work with minimal direction - Assists in the collection of field samples and data. - Returns field samples and data, organized and completed to the Project Manager. - Responsible for maintaining tooling, equipment, and vehicles. - Assists the Crew Chief with trouble shooting mechanical problems and perform the required repairs. - Use required and approved personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing all functions. - Responsible for promot...
