Vascular tech-Crescent CVI-Per Diem-Day-Mount Sinai Queens The Per Diem Ultrasound Technician performs or assists in ultrasound examinations, renders technical assistance to the Radiologist, and maintains and cares for all ultrasound equipment. Collective bargaining unit: SEIU Local 144-MSQ-NonRN - Prepares and examines all patients, verifying their identity for ultrasound examinations in accordance with established departmental procedures and techniques, which includes obtaining health status and medical history, patient’s cooperation or ability to tolerate the examination. Confirms that the ultrasound examination correlates with patient clinical history and presentation. Inform physician in charge of any contraindications to the procedure. - Operates and adjusts ultrasound equipment, cleans and makes minor adjustments, taking safety precautions necessary to protect patients and personnel from electric shock or other hazards. Reports any malfunction to the appropriate person. - Communicates with the patient, their representative and staff.
