Job description

This post is open to substantive Sergeants and Sergeants who are suitably qualified and supported for temporary promotion to either Acting or Temporary Detective Inspector, depending on qualifications. The North West Regional Organised Crime Unit is a collaborative multi agency covert response to tackle serious and organised crime across the North West Region. The PECT is made up of police officers and staff who work regionally but as part of a wider national network led by the City of London Police to target and pursue organised crime groups perpetuating volume fraud. The PECT is a specialist policing team focused on actively targeting, disrupting and investigating serious economic crime. Unlike reactive fraud teams that pick up investigations after reports are made, PECTs go out looking for offenders, using intelligence led tactics to dismantle organised financial crime. The NWROCU leads the policing response across the region posed by serious and organised crime in Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire, Greater Manchester and North Wales.
