Position Title: Education/Assistant Professor/Tenure Track Department: School of Education, Leadership, & Public Services Term of Assignment: Tenure Track: FLSA Status: Exempt = not eligible for overtime Travel: No travel: Brief Statement of Duties: Brief Statement of Duties: Duties and responsibilities include teaching field-based undergraduate courses in PK-3, 3-6 literacy methods, supervised apprenticeship in literacy methods, and other courses as assigned. Supervision of student teachers, as well as online graduate literacy courses, with an emphasis on meeting required educator preparation standards for the state of Michigan. Advise students, engage in professional development and scholarship, and provide service within the school, university, and the profession. Undergraduate methods courses will incorporate field-based apprenticeships in local elementary schools, so the ability to work collaboratively with PK-6 colleagues is required.
