Job description

SUMMARY OF POSITION: Under close supervision, performs material analysis as part of a cross-functional team. This may include learning and using various instruments and different software to assist materials engineers on analyzing/characterizing various materials related to the design, performance, or failure of company products. SPECIFIC DUTIES: - Collaborate with materials researchers and engineers to understand sample characteristics. - Learn how to do sample preparations (encapsulate, grind, polish and etch) for SEM and other instrument to assist engineers and designers in project tasks. - Operate and maintain a variety of equipment to analyze and characterize various organic and inorganic materials. Equipment may include SEM, CSAM, XRF, XRD, XRF, TGA, TMA, DSC and rheometer. - Assist in preparing technical data and reports as assigned. - Assist in maintaining materials research records. - Assist in ongoing division programs or initiatives as needed.
