Terms of Employment: 12-month Exemption Status: Non-Exempt: Temporary Position: Stipend: OVERVIEW: In accordance with education-based athletics, Head Coaches will develop an effective coaching program plan which includes skill development, practice planning, supervision of all levels of the sport, focusing on individual and team growth while instilling the highest ideals of character. Head coach will effectively communicate with student-athletes, parents, & administration. EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: Teachers or certificated professional educators employed by the local Board of Education. Persons certifiable as professional educators by the State Department of Education according to 13A.12.01. Credentialed coaches who meet the following requirement: Are eligible to hold a Maryland certificate under COMAR 13A.12.01. Possess a MPSSAA/MSDE Coaching Certification. Completed two years of successful coaching as an emergency coach. Spent the previous one year as a successful emergency coach at the school of hire in the position of hire.
