Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $27.21 - Midpoint: $35.35 (Hourly N9) Department/Organization: 507121 - Police Operations: Normal Work Schedule: Varies; May include holidays, weekends, overtime, and voluntary and mandatory events; Hours are subject to change based on the operational needs of the unit, departments, and the University community. Note to Applicants: This is a department only search. You must be a current UA employee working in The University of Alabama Police Department to be considered. Job Summary: The Police Officer I - K9 performs standard Police Officer duties with K9 as needed to support the safety and security of the campus community. Performs regular K9 searches of campus facilities, property, venues, and athletic events. Responds to bomb threats and assists with making routine checks for planted explosive devices prior to events that draw large crowds or generate controversy. Promotes UAPD’s community-oriented policing mission through programs, K9 demonstrations, community events, and community interactions.
