Role Overview We are recruiting a Yard Operative / Van Driver with HGV cover to join our AVS Worthing team. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role based at the branch with regular local deliveries to trade and retail customers. The successful candidate will be practical, reliable and safety conscious, able to work both in the yard and behind the wheel, and provide an excellent level of customer service while supporting branch operations and occasional HGV-driven deliveries when required. Main Responsibilities: Operate company vans to deliver materials to customers’ sites, ensuring accurate, timely and professional service; collect signatures and complete delivery paperwork or electronic proofs of delivery. Provide cover for HGV Class 2 (C) drivers where required, including operating an HGV safely when appropriately licenced and authorised, and following route and scheduling instructions from the branch. Receive, unload and store incoming deliveries in the yard; pick, pack and prepare customer orders for collection or delivery ensuring accuracy and safe handling.
