Employment Type: Part time Shift: Day Shift Description: Oversees and administers Point of Care Testing (POCT) Program for all hospital-based locations. Performs and interprets waived and moderately complex clinical laboratory tests Is responsible for education, supplies and inventory, computer operations, and process workflows related to POC testing in hospital-based departments and clinics. Establishes and maintains a quality improvement program appropriate to the area of responsibility. Maintains compliance with requirements of regulatory and accrediting agencies such as College of American Pathologists, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc. Collects and reviews quality control data and testing personnel competency records either manually or via computer. Ensures completion of proper and timely method correlation studies, proficiency testing and user competencies for each area where POC testing occurs. Provides technical oversight for all POC testing such as evaluation and implementation of new instrumentation, proper instrument operation, and quality control requirements.
