Description Plant Maintenance Assistant: A. Job Identification: Responsible for retaining or restoring equipment, machine, or systems to the specified operable condition to achieve its maximum life, including corrective and preventative maintenance to conserve as long as possible the original condition of an asset or resource while compensating for normal wear and tear. This position reports to the Plant Maintenance Manager. B. Essential Job Functions: - Review the operations of plant equipment and systems constantly to minimize downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner and identify opportunities to improve equipment. - Repair or replace any defective equipment to maintain proper operations of the plant using hand held tools. - Monitor the use and inventory of spare parts, maintenance supplies and equipment and initiate reordering when necessary. - Document use of spare parts and maintenance history of plants. - Observe and make recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance related issues. - Perform maintenance and repairs in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner. - Communicate with supervisor frequently through out the day to ensure all...
