Department: Food and Nutrition Schedule/Status: Varies; Full Time: Standard Hours/Week: 40: General Description: Under the direct supervision of the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, the primary function of the position is to prepare quality, wholesome foods for patients, café, and catered events. The Cook must follow standardized recipes to insure accurate consistencies, maintain appropriate nutritional values and to assure the proper amounts are prepared. All duties must follow a designated timeline in order to provide timely food products and meal services. The position shall exemplify the desired Culture of Choice® and philosophies of Parrish Healthcare. Requirements: - Prepares and cooks foods according to menu rotation and standardized recipes as well as verbal instructions and production sheets. Batch cooks for freshness, as appropriate, and prepares accurate numbers of portions. - Maintains a clean and organized work area throughout the shift and follows department cleaning, sanitation, and closing procedures - Practices prescribed safe food handling techniques, in both food prep and service, and sanitizes work area according to established HACCP procedures.
