The successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills, be self-directed, and be confident in their decision-making abilities. Functions and Responsibilities: - Achieving Maintenance goals w ith the highest regard for employee safety - Capable of supporting troubleshooting & observations of machine centers with shift supervisors and other maintenance staff to ensure production and quality standards are met - Managing the department cost in an aggressive manner assuring optimum manufacturing unit cost; develop and educate key metrics. - Maintenance Planning, planning non-emergency maintenance, coordinating PM routes - Effectively communicating goals and/or instructions - Managing conflicts - Supervising Maintenance and Cleanup personnel on varying schedules - Managing contractor safety through active leadership. - Maintenance of sawmill equipment (this includes but is not limited to De-Barkers, Gang Edgers, Trimmer, Sorter, Stacker, Conveyors, Chippers, Blowers, Hydraulic Systems, Pneumatic Systems) - Safety of the crew (Lock-Out Procedures, assisting with and verifying Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRA), Safety Audits) - Arrange WF Training for and mentoring apprentice...
