Job Posting Title: Patient Financial Counseling Location: Frisco - Ambulatory Surgical Center Additional Posting Details: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm Job Description: Duties/Responsibilities - Accurately process charity adjustments based on Crayon Care enrollment status, which includes identifying the greater discount between the Amount Generally Billed (AGB) and the charity discount. - Provides and accurately processes Crayon Care applications based on hospital charity policy and send appropriate correspondence letters to patients’ families. - Add insurance coverage and update the billing system to reflect the insurance status of the patient including pharmacy coverage when needed. - Appropriately document information in the medical record consistent with departmental standards. - Maintain working knowledge of state managed care plans and screen self-pay patients for possible eligibility on Medicaid and CHIP programs. - Manage incoming inquiries regarding payments, charity care, insurance coverage benefits, billing disputes, prior authorizations, patient complaints, outpatient an...
