Department: Laboratory Schedule/Status: Varies; Full Time: Standard Hours/Week: 40: General Description: Under the direct supervision of the Phlebotomy Supervisor, this position collects adequate and correct blood specimens by venipuncture and micro collection techniques to obtain maximum quality samples on both inpatients and outpatients. Properly identifies the patient and verifies appropriate preparation and obtains necessary information, uses laboratory computer terminals to enter and retrieve laboratory data. Access to Med rooms, unattended, to do their job - only (NO ACTIVITIES WITH MEDS). The position shall exemplify the desired Culture of Choice® and philosophies of Parrish Healthcare. Key Responsibilities: 6. When assigned to Parrish Healthcare Center Outpatient Locations, performs daily point-of-care quality checks by monitoring glucometer performance and temperature charts.
